2001-C240 - NO POWER

Again my friend calls me , her 2001 C240 starts , sounds good, but no power when asked to accelerate

I tell her - I work on old ones not new ones , but I would at least ask my cyber MB buddies.
Thoughts?

Check Engine Light?

When she says no power, no response to accelerator at all, or just under powered?

That is the next gen after mine so I really shouldn't comment. However... on mine there is a cable from the accel pedal to a little potentiometer-like thing that senses the pedal position. This sensor on mine is located in the engine compartment in front of the brake master cylinder. On that car, I don't know. So I would first check to see that the cable is connected and the connector is connected. It seems odd that pushing the pedal has NO effect on anything.

according to her the only other thing that happened prior, was the battery drained down , which was traced to a bad seat switch ( memory) , battery back up to charge, but now this.
I need to check the fuel service history

I think you need to see the symptoms for yourself. It doesn't sound quite right. It is hard to believe that the car has NO response to the pedal at all... I am guessing the story will change to, well it has some response...
