2000 E320 wagon not 4wd, good buy?
 

Friend of mine is looking at a 2000 E320 wagon. Very few details except he says everything works electrical wise, very few mtc records, some rust around wheel arches at front wheels. They are asking $7k but its a private seller so maybe its neg.

I wasnt able to offer much help for him, I wonder if some of you with more exp could suggest things he needs to look at carefully before considering.

I told him he should have a professional look the car over (any suggestions in the DC area?) before buying. I know those cars had the spring perch rust issue but that was in the late 90's, not sure if its still a problem on an 00.

It does have the auto leveling suspension, dont know if that is a costly item should it go tango uniform.

Assuming its in good condition both mechanically and cosmetically, and less than 100k, I'd think it a good buy. There are plenty of 100k plus W210 wagons being offered for less money.

It's NOT a good buy because the W210 wagon is quite possibly the ugliest wagon ever made. Right up there with the mid-90's Camry wagon.
Just awful.....

Just walk up to them from the front every time. :D
