HID Question.
I'm seeing some REALLY inexpensive H4 HID kits on Ebay and Kijiji.
Which brand names are good? Are the dual bulb type better than the other(?)? |
in my opinion, none are quality items. bear in mind that all H4 halogen bulbs
are designed for reflector based headlights. the dimensions and specifications are designed around a halogen bulb focal point. when you take an HID and rebase it for H4, the focal point is shifted and the result will nearly always be glare. glare at such a high intensity, is at the very least, annoying as hell.....to dangerous to opposing drivers. their design is a rube goldberg delight....and there are some doozies out there. using such a kit in a halogen unit is also illegal in the US and many countries. |

It will be bright and blue, and all over the place. You might consider it better light for driving, everyone else will consider it worth following you home with a hammer. Get good quality bulbs for your lights, or go to a decent quality Euro light. |
I installed Depots purchased on Ebay for $389 complete HID high and low beam with clear corner lenses and glass headlight lenses. I love'em. I got 6000k rather than 8000k on the advise of Ca. Highway Patrol. Nobody has flashed their brights at me yet. I can see at night now, and I had problems before. They look great in my opinion.
