1987 300E Sunroof Wont Open
 

Alright heres the situation, my sunroof dosn't open it makes noise...and the motor is fine, everytime i try to open/fix it the one side of it goes down and it gets stuck and starts leaking when it rains. I went to my mechanic and he wants $500, im guessing hes going to just align it, it may include a new rubber seal, but $500 :mad:. If I really need to bring it in I will, but it just seems like a waste of money.

I believe there are "wedges" or "tracks" that do fail in these models. I would do a search on this topic. There are many posts adressing this problem.
$500 may be money well spent if you plan on keeping the car a while. But if you could do it yourself it would be better.
