oil level light on ???
So I go for a test ride after changing the bad coil on my 400E 10min in my oil level light came on? So I stopped checked it level was fine. Drove home checked it again still fine! Looked for leaks nothing, Maybe oil level sensor, or wire???

sometimes oil level sensors can stick, causing a faulty reading, most likley a loose connector end or a faulty sensor, check the connector end,if fine replace the oil level sensor in the oil pan.
88260e, probably a faulty oil level sensor. Best to replace it when doing an oil change, after draining the old oil.

I thought as much as soon as it get a little warmer here i'll take a look its FFFFreezin here!!!
Went looking for the level sensor could not see it, could be do to the PS leak is coating everything with muck!!! Anyone know what side its on?
It's inside the oil pan instead of the side.. like a M103.
Don't assume it's shot, it is usually just gummed up with oil sludge. Spray it out with carb cleaner and free up the float before you call it shot. You can test with a DMM before you put it back in to be sure......
And don't take the sensor out without obtaining the o-rings first! |
