1994 E420 Motor Mounts

I was shopping around for a deal on motor mounts. Has anyone had any experience with URO brand mounts? Is there significant difference between the genuine MB mounts and aftermarket mounts? Any recommendations?

You're new here. You'll get used to it. Is the (totaled by wife) part tacky? I can take it down if it bothers you.

I think I'm going to go with the expensive factory mounts since I know it's going to be a pain changing them out and I only want to do it once this decade. I did it once 10 years ago on my 400E and it felt like it was a new car.

You know some dealers off some big discounts. They list for $210 -each. Replace the transmission mount at the same time ($65).

They have a naperville Illinois dealership which sells 15% over dealer cost.

Or there is Ft Lauderdale dealership- wholesale pricing.

Just did this a few weeks ago with factory mounts=0).

Thanks. Duval MB in Gainesville used to have a web site where you could check their prices on line. I don't know why they stopped. Since changing the mounts is a big job for me, I would be reluctant to use aftermarket parts. I plan to change the transmission mount at the same time.

Okay, I checked with the dealer and they list for over $400 each. The parts guy said he could go down to $300 but that's it. Now I'm starting to reconsider using factory mounts. Has anyone else actually replaced their mounts with aftermarket mounts and had good results?

If your dealership quoted you over $400 each for these mounts, it is time to find a different dealership. As samiam44 said previously, the suggested Mercedes list price for these mounts is $210 each. My local dealer does the same thing on parts-they mark the list price way up over the Mercedes list, give you a little discount, and still try to sell the part for much more than list. I guess they must think most Mercedes owners are either independently wealthy or just stupid.

If you search this forum I think you will find that people have had problems with the very cheap after market motor mounts. Certain brands are probably OK. Phil at Fastlane here should be able to help you as well.
