american plates on euro car
 

Anybody know of a conversion bracket or suggestion on how to mount american plates on a euro car? This would be for the back. The provided holes for mine are for euro plates and I need to mount american ones without it looking like the plate is off to one side. I've looked the internet and accessories places and can't seem to find anything. Any suggestions are appreciated!

What car? If its a W124 I have the part number for the fron t and back adapters. If it isn't a W124 call or email Phil in Partshop. I got both from Partshop.

I have solved this by drilling new holes in the plate that match the ones in the car, but you may find this unattractive as there will be some empty holes. I think some states may not like you "defacing" their plates, but so far Connecticut has been pretty calm about it.

The other solution I have used is cutting a sheet of aluminum the size of the plate, drilling holes to mount it to the car and adding some undersize holes that match the holes in the plate. Then I mounted the aluminum blank to the car, and screwed the real plate to it using sheet metal screws. I made sure I had enough offset that the sheet metal screws did not touch the body of the car.
