140 dash bulb replacement
I have a 1992 140 and the lighting of the AC-vents between driver and passenger have gone out....two of them lit up for a while now all are out......my dealer wants $125.00 to change the bulbs...doesen't seem that it would be too hard of a job ...I guess the key would be to be very careful with the wood....
seems like I could get access from the glovebox side with the glovebox door open.... anyone done this job?...or should I just pay the dealer the money?...or should I just say its a 10 year old car and thats just part of the package..?.....lol any help would be appreciated Warren 1992 300SD 129K Columbus Ohio turner@greif.com |
Pay the money. Getting the top box and the center vent out takes know-how.
Also, if the cluster has lights out, let them do it....I have seen quite a few broken. |
All the other instrument panel lights illuminate....actually the whole instrument cluster was replaced under warranty under the first owner so I have the digital odometer etc.......the only bulbs that do not work are the ones that light the four vent "wheels" under the top of the dash.........do I have to pull the actual vents out to replace the illumination bulbs?
in any case I ordered the bulbs from my dealer...I will try it this weekend...but worse case I have the parts and take it back have them install them Warren 1992 300SD 129K Columbus Ohio |
