'95 SL500 Wiring Harness ADVICE HELP
I made my third attempt at replacing the starter/alternator sub-wiring harness and had to stop due to the lack of technical diagrams and step by step guide. Here is the problem: At the terminus of the new wiring harness, two black wires (one larger than the other) appear to connect to the starter motor but you can NOT see the connection. I am assuming that the starter motor MUST be removed? in order to gain access to the terminals???? Lastly, The terminal end of the wiring harness, this large black wire appears to be connected either onto the underside of the passengerside footwell (under the car) OR it actually goes inside the car and connects somewhere in the maze of wires INSIDE the passengerside footwell underneath a plastic protective cover (under the carpet). Also, there is a metal (possibly aluminum) shroud that covers the entryway for the black wire from underside of the car. There is a fastener that defies description. I can't tell if it is screwed into from inside of the passengerside cabin or it has to be removed with visegrips because there isn't a "nut" on the end of it. I don't have the ability to take or send pictures. Just HOPING someone has done this before and can help me with these three items?? Possibly MB Doc? Thanks, Steve
