A nice milestone, but that's early for an '89 300E IMHO. Sold mine at 333,000 KM (206,000 miles) and everything was completely original still. Zero engine work done. It is probably still going. The 300E was a hell of a car. Congrats!

p.s. if it isn't already leaking, your camshaft seal will leak. Probably soon. Leak will appear at base of camshaft cover and oil will leak down passenger side of engine and may splash on alternator. I'd put money on it. Hell of a car otherwise. Except for maybe the A/C evap.

Yea, there is a little wetness in that area. Thought it might be the timing cover thing...................

MB's Are Leakers!
LOL Don't speak too soon...tomorrow you'll go out and find a puddle. MBs are leakers.
Boy, you said it!

Almost 2 years have passed since my last post here. Headgasket, transmission and rear main seal repaired/replaced due to leaks. Power steering pump seals along with the oil pressure sending unit O ring need to be replaced for same. Small coolant leak noted today from radiator. All will be done in time

jeez man, thought you were going to say the timing chain snapped or something like that. i know of some w124 in south africa going on 600 000km. and that was with irregular service intervals. so i think you going to be ok

I planned a nice scenic drive up to the Superior North Shore when my car passed 100k last year. No leaks but many other "fun" things since I got it 8 years ago with 27k on it. Cheers to you!

Wow that is just broke in! Nice picture as well. Though for real impact you should have had the needle pointing as far to the right as possible! LOL I have seen that in other forums and thought oh my that must have been an interesting few minutes. I have pictures of my 300SE turning over 150K and I wonder if I will witness the 200K mark.

Congrats!

In this "new" world...it's the one with the least cost per mile that will win.

91 300TE...270,000 and running good!

95 E320 Wagon...190,000 and running perfect.

88 190E 2.3...099,989 runs O.K. consumes oil...needs?
