E300D drivetrain shudder

I have a 1995 E300 diesel that has done 210k KM.
There is a shudder in the drive train on start off in first gear.
It is particularly noticable with a full load, when accelerating hard or when starting on an incline.
I use the car here in New Zealand as a taxi and it is sometimes a little embarrassing when the car takes off with a shudder.
It will not do it on the flat under reasonable acceleration exept when I change from reverse to drive and then it will nearly always shudder on take off.
I would be very grateful for any suggestions.Thank you.

I would check the driveshaft center support and the rear axles.

The first thing Iwould is change the atf fuild and filter. synthectic would be the best. Adding some tranny cleaner 100 miles or so before you change the fluid might also.
then I would check the modulator.
I have the same car with almost the same problem and thats what did it for me. just my 2 cents
