Self adjusting rear suspension ...
Gents ...
I recently bought a 1989 300e project car. One of the next projects to tackle involves the self adjusting rear suspension. The car was in storage for a long time ... years and years. At present, the car appears to have the tail end very high in the air. It looks unnatural. At the same time, the headlamps shine on the road right in front of the car. My thought is that the suspension may be stuck in the upmost position. Before I even start with this, would any of you care to give me some coaching and guidance? Is there an order to the troubleshooting I should take? Also, I can't seem to find the headlamp adjuster that should be on the dash. Is it possible that some cars don't have one? Thanks very much ... Did you mean TE?
Only the 500E has SLS on sedan's.

Yes, no 300E models ever came with rear SLS, unless as stated above you have a 300TE wagon. The headlight adjustment feature was only found on Euro spec models and never found its way to North American spec cars.

Search
Since that seems to be your first post, there is a search feature for the forum to find info. Up in the header, click "Search", type in SLS, or self leveling suspension or hydraulic suspension.
There have been six or so threads lately about fixing and adjusting SLS. |
