This is a 1985 5.6L AMG euro engine it idles high approx. 1200 rpm. When placed in reverse it loads down and holds about 650 rpm when placed in drive it also loads down to about 650 rpm BUT about 5 seconds after it hits 650 it starts applying power without touching the throttle and gets so aggresive I can't hold it with the brakes. This is a euro and has no electrically operated idle control valve.

Did you check your rubber/vacuum lines around the idle controller valve (ICV)? Also to check whether the valve isn't sticking inside (gumming up, staying open)?

There is no such thing as a 1985 model year 560 anything, the 560 came out for the 1986 and up model years.
The very very last ones came out of South African assembly plants in W126 autos in 1994.

I think some euros had 5.6 in 1985 and a 500 series after 1985.
