Drainplug tool?

'66 230

Where do i source the special tool for the gas tank drain plug. Is this the same tool for the oil drainplug?

I used the search feature for the last half hour and it pretty much pulls up every thread ever...

Thanks ahead of time!

Find it in your shop manual or maybe here: http://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/html/stc/stc_home.html

Order from Mercedes dealer.

You don't necessarily need a special tool. I made one using the proper sized bolt long enough to put a couple of nuts on, then tighten them. Then use a box wrench on the middle bolt, or even an open end.

I think that one was a 47 mm, so I used something a bit larger than 1-3/5, which is about 45mm.

I drained one maybe 20 years ago, when large metric allen wrenches and such tools were dealer only or Germany only. :D

My plan was essentially the same.

Take a bolt with the same head size then take a cheap(broken most likely, they go hand in hand) 1/2 in drive socket and put it over the threaded end of the bolt and weld. Then again i could just go with the nuts on the threaded end...
