2004 Meredes S430 TPM system issues...

A friend of mine owns a 2004 Mercedes S430, the TPM (tire pressure monitoring) system display on the instrument cluster states that the system needs to be re-activated. Each time he resets the system, the same message ends up returning. I have looked up this issue and have discovered that the batteries need replacing every seven years.
Can anyone chime in and offer any other options? Do the sensors need replacing? Is there a DIY / lower cost option for repair? HELP (LOL)
Thanks for reading / helping…….

7 years is the Maximum life of the internal sensor batteries.

Most likely you need several new sensors.

Tire rack sells them as well as most High-end tire stores.

The majority of my clients with the older 220 S-Class cars don't care if they've got TPM or not. As a courtesy to them, I simply program the system out of the car. True, they no longer have the ability to check tire presuure from the drivers' seat, but they're not being constantly annoyed by endless warning/malfunction lights.

I like how you think....Is it a difficult process to program it out?
