W124 Vacuum Element CC part question
Hi all,
Have a '91 300d 2.5T and I'm about to pull the dash off in order to replace the vacuum pods, have a leak in several. I'm having problem locating one of the pods via online vendors. I can find 124-800-04-75 Recirculation / fresh air(left) but not 124-800-11-75 - Recirculation / fresh air (right). Does anyone know if the left can also be used on the right side as well? Or am I out to lunch only one is required? Thanks Rob |
The large pods are the same internally, but different push-pull links (easily removable, a clip) and you might need to dissemble and "clock" the unit so that the vacuum fittings point up when the pod is rotated/snapped into the bracket.
I had to re-clock one of the (correct) ones I bought. I just bought a complete set, didn't have any problem, on-line. |
Thanks, That's what I was hoping :)
cheers Rob |

Just click on Buy Parts above and talk to Phil. That is what funds this wonderful site!
You are doing the right thing in replacing them all. I would never DREAM of that two day job leaving behind any old pods. |
What babymog says to do works. I went through the same thing when rebuilding my 124 system many years ago. For some reason I was shopping at the local dealer (why, I don't know...) and they didn't have one of the part numbers. But they had another part that was the same plastic base, just a different metal actuator rod. So I bought it and swapped the metal rod from the old to the new.
