500 SEL Engine Hesitation/shake

I got my car back from the shop last week after having the timing chain replaced, new plugs, new plug wires, ignition module, lambda adjustment, and other diagnostic/adjustments for among other problems rough idle and black smoke at start up.

It ran fine for about 100 miles and now today another problem.

It runs great when cold lots of power, good acceleration, etc.

After it is warm I can floor it and the engine will shake and hesitate for about 2 seconds and then it will go (but not as fast as it should).

Any ideas?

Ray

I was searching and came across this problem. I have this exact same problem in my 500SEL now, does anybody know what could be causing it.
It's great when cold (as it should be), then gradually as it get warms, the engine hesitates and the car seems to shake a little. After a couple of seconds of my foot on the pedal, the engine finally responds at a higher rpm.
I'm totally stumped on this one. Any advice or help would be much appreciated.

Did some searching on google groups and came across this: Link
What do you guys think, could the ignition or a loose vacuum hose? My air intake plastic hose is broke but it never had this problem before.

Hi raymond3 :-

I am just curious, my 86' 420 SEL had the same problem (almost), and I am not far from where you live -- Portland / Vancouver.

Can you give me your MB shop's name & address ???

What are your opinion for their workmanship ???

Thanks.

500 sel

you need to ck. system preasure between warm up reg. and fuel distributor. If the preasure is to low or high it will give you that prob. Trust me just spent couple of days on this problom wich I had with my same exact car.

Thanks for the info. I thought it might be vacuum line somewhere but I will have that checked out.
