W210 Center console
 

99 E320 with the double drink holder in the center console just forward of the storage compartment.

The sliding cover (door) that hides the drink holders is stuck in the down position. I purchased a maint CD off ebay, says it is a copy of the CD the MB techs use. Printed out the directions, for dissassembly of the center console.

Before I pull the console and begin to take apart, is there a simple fix to get the sliding cover to work again?

Mechanism is hidden until you remove compartment which means removing console to access screws on bottom.
