Anyone using Royal Purple...

Seems to be many good reviews on this Royal Purple oil.
I'm using the Royal Purple coolant additive...the temp stays below 80 celsius....and here on Guam...it's HOT everyday! Never overheating even in traffic.
How about the oil...any users? Comments?

Additives and special oils are essentially never needed if the car is running correctly in the first place. Both my cars stay at 82C even on a 95 degree day....and they just have normal coolant.

Royal Purple is very good oil, just too expensive. I'd prefer Redline if I were spending that much on an oil change.

Why would anyone use Royal Purple? It does NOT carry Mercedes approval.

It's up to them to submit samples for approval--if they don't care about the Mercedes market why would you care about them?

If your system has proper level a good thermostat, a good water pump and clean radiator usually you wouldnt have any issues with heat anyway. Issue is normally viscous fan goes bad, cooling electric fan bite the dust or radiator springs a leak (small neck on top cracks off).
