C43 Brakes

Hi guys!

Recently there has been something weird developing with the braking system on my 99 C43. It almost feels like air in the system but its not really that problem because when you pump the brakes it doesnt get harder.

The problem is lately as you apply brakes to come to a stop, the pedal travels half way while no braking power or action is being applied, then all of a sudden the brakes kick in and it can be sometimes quite sudden. It just doesnt feel proper and its becoming more apparent.

Could this be a brake booster, master cylinder im not sure. Fluid appears to be ok and at a good level.

THanks

Sounds exactly like a booster. More specifically a reaction disc. If you're feeling frisky you can take the booster apart and just put the thing back into place. Odds are that for some reason or another it's either broken or fell out of place.

If you're feeling less frisky, just replace the booster and you should have normal brakes again.
