w124: where is the AC air intake inside the cabin?
 
for w124s that came with no cabin filter (87 300TD), where is the AC intake when in recirc mode? i want to fab a simple filter to control interior dust a bit.

I had my '95 E320 apart to replace the evaporator and looked to see were the recirc air came from. It comes from all around the HVAC suitcase. I don't think there's anyway to filter the air on recirc.

yikes... thanks. was afraid of that. didn't the newer 124s come with a pollen filter? or is that the one underneath the wiper?

That's the filter under the wiper. My '95 has one, I changed it when I replaced the evaporator. The filter is accessible from outside the car after removing a bunch of parts.

Not all 124's have a filter there.
