1995 S320 Overheating

My 1995 S320 was overheating today while on the highway. This was while cruising at a steady speed, the temperature would rise up to about 100+,then while accelerating harder the engine temperature would decrease back down to normal (80).The coolant levels and all fluids are perfect, the thing that I did notice was that the front two fans behind the grille were not spinning at all.I looked for a fuse, but could not find one under the hood or in the trunk.Any ideas on why this wouldnt be working or what the cause is.

The fans strip fuse should be outside the fuse box by the firewall next to the brakebooster kind of. The fans should come on if a/c is on. If a/c is on the temp you suggest is not overheating. Overheating is the red area. It may be above what your used to which may be the fans coming on but if your moving then the fans shouldnt matter anyway. most likely some air bubbles from water reaching boiling point and thermostat failing if this is a new issue.

At speed, the fans do not make a difference in cooling. I would check the thermostat, water pump, and make sure there are no cold spots in the radiator.

definatley check/replace thermostat.you can check it in a pan of boiling water, place it in the water then use a thermometer to test water temp,it will either open or not.check for proper circulation at operating temp,of the h20 pump.
