w126 Center Vents Not Working How to Prop Open? Slide bar does not work?
 

I have done alot of reading on this, and I have the passenger side airbag. I am afraid to pull that out to get to the vaccum. Is there a way to prop open the center vents, i guess my slide bar under the vent does not work. Its driving me NUTS! Any Help would be great. 1989 420sel 141xxx.

The Prop
 

Gently slide a 1/2" wooden dowell into one of the open center vents until it contacts the closed flap. Another nudge will open the flap. Careful not to go too far and tear the inner rubber boot. You may have to leave the dowel in place as long as you want the vent open.

Either get it fixed correctly soon or at least paint the dowel black.
