C230 / M111 engine mount R/R tips?
 

Been thinking about replacing the mounts on my 2000 C230K. Would like to do it myself, but looking from above and below, it doesn't look like there is a lot of room to maneuver tools and the mounts. Anyone done these on this chassis or engine? Any tips? Any brands you would recommend?

There is DIY article here for a W210. I followed it for my W124 M111.960 and everything was ok.

It's easier than it seems, just take enough time to think what needs taking off etc for you to access the necessary bolts.

Can't speak of your chassis, but I did it on a M104 in a W124.

Was easy. Got under the car, undid the bolts on the bottom of the mounts.

Got a trolley jack and blocked it up off the ground. Put a block of wood on top as well and gently lifted the engine up by the alternator bracket.

This is obviously not ideal, but from memory you dont have to lift it far.

There are also bolts on top of the mounts which are harder to get to.
With me, on one side I had to remove the bracket that holds the intake manifold.
On the other side, I had to take out part of the airbox and the heat shield from the exhaust manifold
You need a universal joint on your sockets though, and I used gaps in the intake runners and exhaust manifold to put the tools through

I expect your car to be more or less identical to mine, though I am unsure of where your supercharger sits
