fuel pressure regulator
the fuel pressure regulator on my 103 Engine
1987,300SE has what seems to be a vacuum line coming out the back. It is cut off. Should it be ? or where should it lead to? And a another question for all - I know replacing the fuel injectors should improve performance and other ailments .Will it also improve gas milage ? thanks for the advice and knowledge shared. |

That vacuum line is a safety precaution. If the regulator diaphragm fails, the fuel will be sprayed into the crankcase vent through the small line. It is supposed to go on into the hose on top of the air cleaner.
New fuel injectors will help if the old ones are partially clogged or pitted.

When changing the air filter and looking at the breather hose, I always wondered what that "additional" little hole was for....
