Got under the car today and took a look -- Does the exhaust need to be dropped down to remove the driveshaft since the U joint is right smack in the middle of the exhaust or is there enough space? Keep in mind I have the 722.4 which has a slightly longer driveshaft than the 722.3....

Did the center bearing replacement fix your vibration issue.

I would check torque on all the driveline bolts. I recently bought a 300tdt and on the 3 hour trip home it would shake only under load. The next morning, on the way to a friends shop, the shaking go so bad I Pulled over and shimmed under the car. Two of the 3 driveline bolts had fallen out of the rear diff. and the third was barely hanging in there. I had to drive the car about a mile to a local muffler shop. They put it on the lift and two bolts and a $20 tip later, she drove smooth as the day she came off the lot.

telltale warning may be a very light vibration on the shift lever.

Any other ideas what it could be?

Thanks

I had something similar and it was a rear disc. Two new MB original discs and all as now smooth.

The vibration was there for some years after I changed all 4 discs for a set of ATE discs bought from an online store. It got massively worse when the rear pads were replaced. That's when we decided to change the discs as nobody had any idea what else it could be. Lucky bit of guesswork.
