yesterday, i cleaned out my purge valve with a comination of carb cleaner and some wd-40, and have noticed that it now pulses/cycles when the engine is at operating temp. from what i've read so far, it seems like the purge valve should turn on only after the engine reaches operating temperature(above 70c). is this correct, or should it cycle even on cold starts? if anyone could provide me with an answer, i would really appreciate it .

thanks,
tim

update: turns out that my rough starts are being caused by a leaking injector, according to the guy at the Bosch service shop.

i had all 6 injectors flow tested a couple of times, and they were all pretty even as far as flow goes (52-53mL each), unfortunately one of them leaks. so, i plan on ordering an injector online any day now. if anyone has any suggestions as where to pick one up i'd really appreciate it.

thanks,
tim

PROBLEM SOLVED! i hope

Last week, i ordered a used fuel injector which came in on friday. put it in yesterday, and so far so good! startups are once again nice and smooth.

since one of the injectors was leaking, has my engine oil been ruined? do you guys think that i should replace the engine oil asap ? or just keep driving til the next scheduled oil change in about 4,000 miles ?

thanks
tim
