1995 E300 DIESEL AUXILIARY COOLING FANS

I just got a 95 e300 diesel,W124,with both auxiliary fans working all the time in front of the radiator.Car is well kept, the previous owner just spended 700$ to fix the problem and seems like they just installed a new fan and 2 cooling hoses and did not fix the problem...I dont really need the aux fans,I would like to disconnect them, however,it seems like there is no separate fuse for that, fuse D will not stop them, where is the electrical connection for those fans?,I can only see the connectors for the double horns in the front...any help/suggstion will be appreciated.

Near the thermostat housing there should be a temp-sensor with a single-pin connector and a double-pin connector. Un-plug the double-pin connector, if that stops the fan you need a new temp sensor.

Also possible that the PO wired them to stay on constantly. Out of curiosity, why don't you need the aux fans? The Mercedes engineers who designed the coolant and climate systems of the car evidently thought you did.

Thanks for the input,I never had a diesel MB with those fans actually starting, the gas engines get hot, diesels are running cool, however, here next to WI/IL border with mostly hwy traffic, temp rarely gets above 90,even at idle in the summer,so,I will disconnect them till I find the source of the problem. The AC does not work either, with the system fully charged and new ACC and new vacuum lines, done last year by the PO at a fenomenal cost,I belive those problems are related somehow and the coolant sensor is good, fans are on high all the time, with the sensor disconnected or not.

Follow the power cord from the fan motor to the plug. :)
