Rear end noise or?
I've noticed a road noise on my '93 300CE at 75-80MPH. It happens only on sweeping turns to the right on the freeway. Never to the left. And you have to be on the gas. At first I thought it was a tire tread noise so I rotated the tires. Still there. So guys, am I hearing a front or rear wheel bearing noise, a differential noise or a power steering pump problem?
Thanks, Anziani '93 300CE 180K '95 E420 120K |

Does the car have ASR?
Does the warning triangle in the speedo come on then as well? IF no, then the wheel bearing is the most likely issue.

The car has ASR but the light is not on (except for taking a corner faster than prudent).
If a bearing would it be the front end or rear end? On the other hand, maybe it is time to change them all. Thanks Doc Anziani |

Could it be collapsed or worn motor mounts? I had a similar problem. It was kind of a groaning sound that happened only at higher speeds while making a turn in one direction (I can't remember which). After I replaced the motor mounts, the sound went away. Maybe it was the fan hitting the shroud. I don't know, but it stopped now.
