M103 Timing Rail Pin

has anyone had experience using this to remove the timing rail pin

http://www.handsontools.com/SIR-Tools-M0049-Impact-Type-Rail-Pin-Puller-for-Mercedes_p_18984.html#

i usually just made some weird tool out of stuff I find in the garage for removing the pin, but i'd rather have the proper tool this time around.

I use a few bolts and washers/spacers.

I have heard the clearance required for a slide hammer means pulling the radiator.

It may work but is a bit pricey.

I use a full threaded bold, a socket, washer and nut.

Screw the nut all the way on the bold, then put the washer and the socket on the bold.

Screw the bolt in the pin and force it out by turning the nut.

Don't use a cheap (soft) bold.

bolt, a socket (as a spacer) and a washer. save the money. You'll kick yourself for doing it.
