AC

I have a 1988 300e. the ac compressors good, freon full , just will not blow cold air, will only blows ambient air. my mechanic said that the pressure in freon is good, and that the compressor is also good. he said something about the temp. controler ( the nob ) inside the car that it might have a short?
Can someone explain this to me or tell me wehat to do,please

These are the lines leading to the vacuum pods under the dash. If the recirculation pod leaks, it will constantly draw outside air in mass quantities, nullifying the refrigeration system.

Just did mine on a '91 420 SEL. On mine you would also need to remove the carpeted piece on the right side of the console. Runs from the console to the fire wall. One bolt near where the passengers left foot would be. Found four of the six pods shot. You can pop them apart and see the deterated rubber bits.

Lewis ,I am just wondering is this an intermittent problem? or is it blowing hot all the time. Thanx John.
