ml430 heater always on
I discovered a problem with the actuator sticking half way on heat when dial set to coolest. Remove glove box and find actuator arm behind stereo. With the engine running operate the heat control knob and you can see if it is operating through the full range. Mine was only going half way off.
I turned the ignition off again after setting to coolest ang got a screwdriver and gently pushed the arm all the way back towards the front of the car hearing clicking as it went. I then turned the engine on and tested, it worked through the full range and was no longer hot on cool setting. Last edited by michaelad; 01-19-2013 at 10:21 PM. Reason: photo |

Failure of the blend air door stepper motor is common on the early ML.

ml430 2000
hi mbdoc
today i loosened the bolt on the crankshaft pulley after a lot of engineering. A torque of around 600 ft/lb. or more, was needed!! Is this normal? Anyway i am wondering if there is anything i should be looking out for apart from the wobbly pulley at 150000km. Should i be changing diff/ trans oils at this stage. Motor runs smooth as. don' t know when plugs were last changed. I tried to undo one to have alook and seemed gauled is this common? Is it ok to use regular ulp fuel or is premium a must. also SRS light comes & goes at bump is this serious?. I don't want to driving ang air bag goes off! In general it drives smooth with no noise to speak of apart from the pulley. Yours gratefully michaelad Last edited by michaelad; 08-05-2013 at 08:30 PM. |
