Windshield install at Factory
 

How does the factory install the windshield on cars? Does it use adhesive? Some of my friends told me that the only thing holding the windshield is the rubber seal. I find that surprising. The adhesive is used only on windshield replacement. Any comment?

Yes, they use adhesive. I ordered the stuff once when I had to replace my windshield. The shop that was replacing it didn't want to use it because it had some special primers, but I insisted they use the original MB stuff.
They had to cut the original adhesive to remove the broken windshield.
