E.G.R. Valve is M.I.A,89 300ce
 

i noticed on the exhaust manifold,there is a flat blank,that has not been punched out,this is where the egr is supposd to be located,its as if the car was manufactured without one,am i overlooking it? does the car not come equipped with an egr,or did they do something different for 1989?

I believe that 1986 to 1989 MBZs of this type did not come with EGR systems. I too have an area on the exhaust manifold that would be where the EGR would sit.

Yes, from what I know the M103s did not get EGR until the 1990 model year.

Yes, it's true, no EGRs till 90.
Also, if your CEs were 1990s instead of 89s, they would have M104s instead of M103s.
