W220 hood release does not work
 

My hood release does not work well on 2001 S430. I pull the handle inside
and the handle does not pop out of the grille. Is there an adjustment to fix it? The cable seems stretched.

any ideas?

try removing the actual interior lever to get to the "cable"... then pull from there with a vice grip or something...

...this runs the risk of "stretching" the cable though if there is already a frayed section of cable somewhere along the line... i remember reading people accessing the latch mechanism through the grille (potential damage)... dont know the specifics though, and pretty sure its not for a w220... as i hang out in the diesel forum, w140 and w124 forums(elsewhere)
