C280 Hesitation
Just got a 2000 C280 Sports, and have noticed a slight hesitation when accelerating hard on kickdown. There's a definite pause before full power kicks in. This occurs when the car is fully warmed up, when going from 4th down to 3rd.
It has approx. 18k miles, and other than this "quirk", it performs very well. Great acceleration, handling, etc. Any ideas? Is this "normal" for this model car? It doesn't occur in my '97 S420. James |

This is normal. This is an inherent feature in MB transmissions to protect against premature wear.
