Sensors
Which engine do you have?
If the forward most one has two vacuum lines to it, it is a Thermo Vacuum Valve for the fuel evap cannister. It is normally closed and opens at 50 C. Jeff |
thanks jeff, it is a 124 300E '89. i think, my thermo
vacuum valve is broke, the plastic base is broke. what kind of problems is associated with it, if any? |
Symptoms will be associated with a vacuum leak. There are two vacuum nipples sticking out, one straight and one angled. The angled one connects to a tube running from the throttle body, the straight one runs to a vacuum connection on the left fenderwell, the purge valve. Depending on which one is broke, you may have a vacuum leak constantly, or, only when the switch opens at 50 degrees C.
If you have the CD rom set, you can find the diagram under fuel system, 47-200, Funtion of fuel evaporation system. Fastlane didnt have the part# 001-140-62-60. My local dealership did for $12.65. My car is a 89 300SE so the parts should be the same. Good luck Jeff |
thanks for the info, jeff. happy holidays!!
