Leaking in the dark...
1999 E430: 203,406 miles
Long time no post.... the damn W210 has just been too bulletproof I guess. Two little issues. 1. My first issue has been going on since I got the car. I can't seam to stop it from seeping oil out of the filter canister lid. It wasn't leaking when I got her, but its been a constant annoyance since I started changing the oil. I've tried tightening it more, less, two O-rings as opposed to one.... nothing is working. Anyone else have this issue? 2. I've replaced the fog lights a couple times before as the seem to go out quite often. This time the Drivers FL had been out for about a month. Decided to replace them both at once. Swapped them out and now neither Driver or Passenger will come on. No fuses no nothing... WTF? |

take the canister off, and take it to a machine shop. Have them shave it smooth, and do the same on the lid.

Brain fart on the fog lamp.... totally forgot about the fuse block behind the drivers side door. There is still an issue with the driver side lamp assembly, as it requires the occasional slap to get the light t kick on though.. How tightly do you all turn the oil canister down? |

plastic canister should be less than 20 ft lb... Plastic can still easily get cut on a metal lathe. Or you could try a new canister lid...
