Need help replacing roof hinges in 1999 slk 230
 

Both roof hinges in my 1999 slk 230 are bent. If anyone has had to replace them and could offer some advice or directions, I would appreciate it. I did see the complete disassembly of the roof on Buellwinkle site but if you not have to take the top of completely-I would rather not!

I have managed to locate a wrecked 1998 slk 230. The part numbers (170 790 02 01 and 170 790 01 01) should be the same as in mine. The issue with the wrecked one is that since it is without battery the roof cannot be moved back at all. Once again, I am hoping that I can remove the hinges with the car in this state.

If anyone has the hinges, please let me know. I am not sure yet if the owner of the wrecked slk will part it out. Thanks in advance. Any useful advice would be appreciated.
