Brake Master Cylinder Question
 

Hey everyone,

I have a question, I have a brake booster/master cylinder thats been sitting on my shelf for about 9 months now. Its a 500E master with a 190E 2.6 booster. I was thinking about putting that 500E master on my car. However I'm not sure what happens to them if they sit for a period of time. It still has some fluid in it I believe so...any ideas?

If it's a new master with the assembly fluid in it, it should still be fine. If it's actual BRAKE fluid, then all you can do is see if the piston is seized or not.

Gilly, I originally bought it in 2007, then replaced the booster/master assembly in late 10/09. Its just brake fluid. I'll go see if its seized or not.
