Does anyone have any tricks.....I am desperate!
This is for the '85 500SEL (126). Have a problem...Or do I?
Is there any tricks to reattaching the vacuum line(s) on the throttle valve switch w/o having to remove the entire air intake/fuel distributor assembly on top? One of the lines (black) goes to the purge valve and the other to the thermovalve. I have spend countless time and calories trying to come up with a solution. My only choice is to remove the air guide housing, air flow sensor and fuel distributor so I can get a hand down there. OR DOES IT REALLY MATTER IF THEY ARE CONNECTED AT ALL????? |
YES they do need to be connected. Removal of the whole air flow housing is the only way that I know of to do that.

If you have to go through all that trouble, now would be a good time to replace the line with a new one.
