97 E420 ASR & ABS dummy lights on fdash, car runs fine?

For a couple of months my dash on the 97 E420 has the ASR & ABS dummy lights on and where the odometer is I see a "ACC.skid" message. The car runs fine with no problems, any thoughts?

So you have a basic traction system issue & that system is switch off.

A MB scanner will point to the problem.

Does this require a different scanner than the one I built for my 95 E320 years ago?

Yes, & an ODB2 scanner won't work either!

So I can bring it to the dealer to get it scanned (for free) but not give them the work....

I replaced the stop signal switch and all is well, no more ABS ASR dummy lights. What a pita it was to remove the lower dash panel to get at this switch! It must have taken me 45 mins to get the damn thing off.

I have the same problem. ABS ASR lights are on. FT Myers Benz mechanic told me to check ABS power voltage relay fuses inside black box at passenger firewall. He said if fuses arent blown then its the relay itself (220 bucks) . well it isnt. Where is the stop signal switch ? Somewhere on brake pedal ?? It would be great not to have any dash lights on for once !!

Under the dash behind the brake pedal.

You were right Mr Edge . I just replaced the stop signal switch ($30) and no more abs, asr light. Awesome. Nice to finally have the dummy lights off for once.
Thanks for posting .
