c240 keyless entry problem
 

hi!

my (W203) C240 keyless entry only works when i point my key directly onto the infrared window on the driver's door handle, otherwise it is impossible to lock or unlock the car from any point. my key's batteries are very good. my car is brandnew. it seems only the infrared works and not the radio frequency of the keys. thanks!

Almost all of the W203 chassis are having this problem, very similar to the ML when they were introduced.

I guess I'm really lucky, mine has been flawless, I can unlock it the instant I step off the parking garage elevator, which is a good 60 feet from the car.

hmmmm... so any ideas on how to resolve this??? some are saying that i need to have the keys replaced. Im quite confused if its only the keys, or do i have to replace some components to the car (e.g. modules).

please help! i live in a far away place, the nearest mb dealer is a 3 day boatride! thanks!

I also have similar problems please let me know if you get this resolved. I did get new keys for my 2001 C240. Replaced by the dealer. However like you said sometimes I nned to be right next to the car for the remote to work.
