Idle valve has little or nothing to do with starting.

Located on intake manifold in front the plenum

If you've replaced coil, wires, cap, rotor, you can try to adjust the EHA Valve under the air intake housing attached to the fuel distributor. Assuming the fuel pump and all is good, do a search on EHA Valve and follow the adjustment technique. Did mine today due to starting getting harder and long cranking and now it starts up much easier but has to warm up more before a good idle takes over. Then it's fine.

today i had 1/2 the day off. while sitting insode the car i turned the key in the on position. I sat there and listened to the fuel pump turn on and begin working. THEN, I turned the car over it was a sputter start but did turn over on the first crank.

Then it had a rough idle for a few seconds. It leveled out was running fine for about 30 seconds. then the idle started to increase from right under 1000rmps to almost 2000.

I shifted out of park and into drive, I waited 30 seconds and the idle went back to just under 1000 rpms.

is this a sign that the sensor with the fuse on the top of it ( i forgot the man of it) is bad?

thanks for all your help i'm glad i found this fourm and i owe you all a solid. if your in eastern washington state i owe you a beer or two.

Do a search for "OVP". Is the ABS light on or anything?

Also, check into crank position sensor.
