Fuel distributor aftermath.........
Guys,
I just recently changed my fuel distributor on my '85 190E. It was diagnosed with a faulty one. Anyhow, after changing it with a used one (60k miles), the car won't start. It will crank, but refuses to start. So then I took the newer fuel distrubutor out and replaced it with my old one. And guess what? Still the same problem! Now I'm really in a deep hole. Do I have to adjust the fuel adjustment screw? Theoretically, if I put the old part back on, it should fire up, right??? Any ideas that would put me out of my misery? Thanks guys, Vu |

You need to adjust the new one with the method described in the D.I.Y. section. You will need a digital ammeter for this.

Public Enemy,
Thank you for replying. Since I don't have an ammeter, my best guess would be bringing it to the independent shop........... Vu |

You should break down and buy one. They aren't too expensive and real handy to have.

Alright, I had to local independant shop installed my newer fuel distributor, and the problem still persist!
Any ideas to what else can cause a problem of stuttering acceleration? Timing was checked, spark plugs and wires were checked, cap and rotors were checked...................Any ideas? EHA valve? |

How did you remove it? Did you take out the airflow with the distributor? The reason I am asking is because there is a hose on the bottom that connects to airflow from idle control valve. Double check that the hose is attached securely.
