what is the little shock/damper attached to driver's side of the 103 engine? Mine is making noise....replaceable?

fairly easy to replace... i have replaced... i have also added extra washers to compensate for the wear on the rubber insert bushing.... that's temporary however.

where did u place the washers?

been a few years... but it seems like i took the top bolt out and placed the washers either side of the "eye" of the damper.... used rubber washers... re-bolted and the rubber was squeezed , eliminating the rattle....

don't be afraid to tighten the top bolt.... the rubber washers need to be compressed....
