Difference between early and late 124 front control arms?
I have a new set of late 124 control arms, no longer have the '94s or '95.
Does anyone know what changed and if I can use these on my '87? I know that the ball-joint assembly is welded in the late cars, but nothing else really about them. Since I would like to replace the ball-joint boots anyway on the '87 I'd like to just install new arm assemblies "while I'm in there".

You can fit bigger front calipers with the later style since the ball joint does not stick out as far. As you said though, non-replaceable - No other difference other than that.

Thanks, I was hoping that the geometry is the same, and I am looking at '94/'95 4-puck calipers so that all works, already have plenty of wheel clearance.
Another weekend project!
