Today I bought some Bosch +2 Irridium plugs and put them in the 300E. Couldn't get any Non-Resistor Copper Plugs anywhere. Car idled much better and took off with more power. Still have to crank to start though. We'll see if the idle lasts. Was 106 degrees outside today. Before it was stalling and now it isn't. I need to adjust my Lambda for optimal mixture but not sure how to do with laymen's tools. Anyone have a link they can post for me? BTW, old plugs had carbon deposits around the base of the threads. Am I running too rich?

Possible Breakthrough on 300E hard start?

I have been reading and searching threads like crazy! I have read that my hard starting issues could be the fuel accumulator located by the fuel pumps:rolleyes:. I don't have any pressure tools and was wondering how to test this:confused:;). I came across one thread where the poster said to test the accumulator, turn the key far enough to hear the fuel pump run but don't start it. Turn it back and do it again for four to five times to rebuild the pressure in the fuel distributor and then try to start it without throttle;). I did this and she started up like a brand new car and idled beautifully:D! Quick, short crank and varooom!!! No need to warm up and give it gas til it steadied either. Can anyone explain this to me and give me any other tests I can try:o? I definitely will replace the Accumulator after that insight as well.
Maybe I should start a separate thred for this  but I also noticed that my outside plug area from the front to the back are getting wet. Can't tell if its leaking out the manifold cover or being blown backwards from the radiator hoses (a mixture of coolant and oil possible?). I did find a leak between the top of the water pump and that very short, fat hose connected to the engine on the front top right side. When I got the car last year, it had no leaks, but just seemed to start. I lose coolant about every 300 miles to where I need to refill.
