fronts are held by many 10mm bolts, you will have to remove (pull) the lower panel to find the bottom bolts. There are some in the door jam, open the door all the way and you will see them. There is one in the bumper too but you shouldn't need to remove it. You will have to remove the side marker light and lower headlight panel.

I had to remove 1 hinge as i couldnt get all the fender bolts out from just the opening of the door, maybe a 1/4 inch drive with 8 inch extenstion might have made it I just undid 1 hinge to get easy access as I didnt want to scratch/gouge the paint.

1/4 drive with deep socket. hold the door max open and you can put tape on the fender edge if you're worried about scratching...

I couldnt get it to work thats why i undid 1 hinge, maybe the molding also and he wont have that.

I second the 1/4" drive socket. I have done 2 different front fenders on a 124, one for an '88 300E, and one for a '95 E300D. Was able to do both OK, but the '95 lower cladding makes it harder to reach that one bolt through the door gap.

The door cladding is simple to remove, remove screw at door flange, pull out bottom with plastic barbs, move cladding away from hinge about 1/2" and pull away from the door. I understand the apprehension as a clip mount on the cladding occasionally breaks. Use slow even force.

you will likely break a clip or two
