Thanks! W126 cruise control solder 560 SEL
Thanks to the advice here I got my cruise working just fine! Two BIG time saving tips I found.
1 - The cruise box, located to the left of the steering shaft with mounted relay, does NOT have to come out. One can bend the metal tabs of the box on the three sides and with a little tug the board falls out. 2 - One does NOT have to re-solder the entire board. Another tip I read was to start with the capacitors. Two are the round drum type and the rest are tall and rectangular. Most are red. Just re-solder those for a first try. Well doing the above saved me a ton of time and effort. With all that varnish-like stuff on the board a complete re-solder is questionable. Doing just the capacitors worked fine for me. Getting the board back in is easy, but bending those tabs back is a little hard. I only got two. But it will hold. Obvious tip. During test drives hook up the board but just let it hang. It will rest to the left of the brake pedal and will not get in the way. So thanks again everyone! Time for a road trip!

Hmm, I would try that for some of my spares. I resoldered an entire board for my SDL once, waste of time.
Glad to hear it worked for you.
